Our Local Programme supports projects and activities which promote the development of cohesive, healthy and sustainable communities in and around our UK sites.

Who can apply
- Applicants can apply for support (funding, products, associate time and other gifts in kind) for projects which fulfil our criteria:
- Local charities, community groups, or regional branches of national charities within a 10 mile radius of Slough, or 15 miles of Birstall (Leeds), King’s Lynn, Melton, Peterborough and Waltham.
Categories for support
- Projects that will deliver a positive and lasting benefit to the community in one of the following three areas: Healthy Lifestyles, Environment or Pet Welfare
- Projects that can demonstrate clear objectives, measurable outcomes and impacts.
Exclusions
- projects which fall outside the stated geographical boundaries;
- requests for products or branded activities, that target children under 12 - this is in line with our Global Marketing Code
- national charities (unless local branches of national charities);
- individuals or charitable appeals for individuals;
- exclusive religious groups;
- causes overseas;
- pressure groups;
- political organisations/causes;
- expeditions or overseas travels;
- 3rd party fundraising – i.e. organisations fundraising for other organisations;
- parties or celebration events;
- commercial sponsorship;
- organisations with which association may be potentially harmful to the Mars business
